A few months ago I stumbled upon this amazing blog: I Heart Organizing, check it out if you are ready to be sucked in and stuck in front of your computer screen for hours bewildered by how a house with small children is SO organized and BEAUTIFUL at the same time! This blog has sparked a need for organization in my world of chaos! I have taken on quite a few projects and have A TON more in mind (which I will be soon sharing) all in thanks to I Heart Organizing...
Lately, I have been on mission organization and she has been talking Lego storage solutions. A friend alerted me that this months Family Fun magazine has an article on just that Lego Storage. Of course, being as I am in organizing mode, delved in and discovered what I hope to be the ANSWER to all my prayers (ok curses!)
I instantly got to work! I purchased 2 of the drawer storage (a 3 and 5 drawer one) bins, a pre cut (16x48) table top from Lowe's (in the closet storage aisle, some orange electrical tape (to go with my playroom's orange and turquoise theme), a pack of double sided permanent tape squares, and a few small bins to put inside the drawers. The whole thing cost about $40 and OMG I am in LOVE!

(mini bins for people and odd pieces)
|sorted by color|
|in the larger bins I added smaller bins so that I can have 2 colors in one drawer|

I really LOVE how it turned out! Anthony has a place to build, he can keep his finished projects on top of the table, and the drawers have all the pieces sorted. I also put all the instruction books in page protectors inside a 3 ring binder so they are all in one place for when we want to build one of the sets...
Honestly, I want to make another one for Miss Madison and the endless amount of art supplies that are consuming my house! So, what do you all think?
